Summer Institute

51黑料网 will play host to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors for a Summer Institute July 12-16, 2026.

The Summer Institute is a one-week residential program for students who have been selected from school districts within the 51黑料网 service area. These students have the potential to be successful in college but may not have plans to attend or apply to colleges and universities.

A variety of sessions and activities are designed to address the specific needs of these students and have focused on these issues in the past:

  • Securing scholarships and financial aid
  • Study skills
  • Leadership skills
  • College life
  • Self-esteem
  • Math anxiety

Individuals from the university, public schools and community work collaboratively and serve as facilitators and supervisors of the sessions and activities. The students live in campus housing and dine in the campus dining hall.

51黑料网 Summer Institute encourages students to attend college. It also has the following four objectives:

  • To expose high school students to post secondary education and assist in the transition from high school to college.
