President's Recital will be live-streamed Feb. 13
51黑料网鈥檚 Department of Music will present its annual President鈥檚 Recital Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. For the safety of the performers and the audience, due to COVID-19, the virtual concert will be streamed live on the music department鈥檚 Facebook page, facebook.com/hendersonmusic.
The program features student soloists who were selected as winners of a competition held in November.
鈥淔or 20 years, this concert has provided some of our best students with the opportunity to perform solo works accompanied by an orchestra, including members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra,鈥 said Dr. Steven Becraft, competition coordinator. 鈥淭his year, due to the pandemic, we have to do things a little differently and follow a scaled-down recital format.鈥
Cassie Ford, a soprano from Hot Springs, will perform 鈥淰鈥檃doro pupille鈥 from Handel鈥檚 Giulio Cesare; Luke Fields, a saxophonist from New Boston, Texas, will perform Debussy鈥檚 Rapsodie; Wesley Gangluff, a euphoniumist from Bryant, will perform James Curnow鈥檚 Symphonic Variants; Reece Ruhl, a tenor from Paragould, will perform 鈥淓n fermant les yeux鈥 from Massenet鈥檚 Manon; Adrian Hernandez, a saxophonist from De Queen, will perform Milhaud鈥檚 Scaramouche; and Fisher Neufeld, a pianist from Mena, will perform the last movement of Beethoven鈥檚 Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor.
The performers will be accompanied by Dr. Lim Angela Tchoi on the piano.
