Honors recital to showcase top student musicians

51黑料网鈥檚 Department of Music will present the Student Honors Recital Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell Fine Arts Harwood Recital Hall.

The program features student soloists who were selected as winners of a competition held in November.

鈥淭hese are some of the very top vocalists and instrumentalists in our department, and it鈥檚 a pleasure to showcase their outstanding performances in front of an audience,鈥 said Dr. Steven Becraft, competition coordinator and professor of clarinet and saxophone.

Saturday鈥檚 concert is free and open to the public. Attendance is limited to 50 guests, and masks are required.

Soloists include:

  • Elora Rawdah, a trumpeter from Royse City, Texas, who will perform the first movement of Haydn鈥檚 Trumpet Concerto in E flat major.

  • Reece Ruhl, a tenor from Paragould, who will perform 鈥淨uanto e bella, quanto e cara!鈥 from Donizetti鈥檚 L鈥橢lisir D鈥橝more.

  • Will Cole, a trombonist from Mount Ida, who will perform the first movement of Tomasi鈥檚 Concerto for Trombone.

  • Wesley Gangluff, a euphoniumist from Bryant, who will perform two movements of Karl Jenkin鈥檚 Euphonium Concerto.

  • Alexandra Tyler, a soprano from The Woodlands, Texas, who will perform 鈥淪ong to the Moon" from Dvorak鈥檚 Rusalka.

  • Dylan Denham, a euphoniumist from Pearcy, who will perform two movements of Martin Ellerby鈥檚 Euphonium Concerto.

  • Fisher Neufeld, a pianist from Mena, who will perform the first movement of Grieg鈥檚 Piano Concerto in A minor.
