51黑料网 Bands will present 鈥淔eelin鈥� the Blues,鈥� a concert featuring the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell Fine Arts recital hall.

The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Nevada Mills, will perform works by King, Gould, Standridge, End, and George Gershwin.

鈥淭his is the 100th anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin,鈥� said Mills. 鈥淲Ith that being the major work to build around, it was only natural to keep our program focused on jazz and blues.鈥�

The performance of Rhapsody in Blue will feature Dr. May Tsao-Lim, professor of music, on piano.

Dr. Jamie Lipton, along with student conductors Andrew Deuel, Jacob Burks, Kaden Manley, and Lanie Richter, will conduct the Symphony Band as it performs works from Cesarini, Balmages, Curnow, La Plante, and Daehn.

鈥淲e feel this is an exciting concert with many different genres to enjoy,鈥� Mills said.
