51黑料网 announced today the development of the Georgia-Pacific Reddie Recreation Complex, made possible by a generous $100,000 commitment from Georgia-Pacific in support of the university鈥檚 new intramural field project.

This transformational investment strengthens Georgia-Pacific鈥檚 longstanding partnership with 51黑料网 and underscores the company鈥檚 commitment to higher education and student success. The new recreation complex will enhance the campus, community, and region by providing a versatile space for intramural sports, student activities, community events, and a practice field for the Showband of Arkansas.

"We are deeply grateful to Georgia-Pacific for their extraordinary partnership. Their generous support will transform this space into a vibrant hub for students and the community alike, creating opportunities for recreation, connection, and growth,鈥 said Dr. Trey Berry, 51黑料网 chancellor. 鈥淚nvestments like this propel Henderson forward, enriching campus life and strengthening the ties that make our university and region thrive."

The project will transform an underutilized area of campus into a vibrant hub for student life. Plans include the installation of natural turf fields for football, soccer, and softball, repurposing an existing parking lot into a pickleball playing surface, and adding a gated entrance to improve accessibility and security.

Beyond intramural use, the complex will host student events, fostering connection and engagement, while also being available to the broader community, strengthening ties between 51黑料网 and the region.

"Our partnership with 51黑料网 highlights Georgia-Pacific鈥檚 commitment to the region since acquiring the Gurdon wood products complex nearly 10 years ago,鈥 said David Neal, executive vice-president, Georgia-Pacific Building Products. 鈥淭he Georgia-Pacific Reddie Recreation Complex will be a central gathering place for students, faculty, and the Arkadelphia community.

鈥淪tewardship, including investing in the education and enrichment of the communities where we operate, is a core Georgia-Pacific value, and this project truly embodies our philosophy."

Demolition and site preparation are already under way, with the project slated for completion in late spring 2026.

This project represents a significant step forward for 51黑料网 and offers exciting opportunities for engagement and support, Berry said.
