David Salley named senior director of marketing and communications at Henderson

Longtime Reddie athletic administrator David Salley has been named senior director of marketing and communications at 51黑料网. He transitioned to his new role on April 1.

Salley has spent the last decade working in the Reddie athletic department, rising from a graduate assistant to associate athletics director for external affairs.

鈥51黑料网 has been home for my entire professional life, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our marketing and communications efforts,鈥 Salley said. 鈥淭he Reddie Spirit has a powerful message that resonates in our community and beyond. I鈥檓 looking forward to sharing our story and continuing to serve the university in a new and comprehensive way.鈥

In his new role, Salley will serve as Henderson鈥檚 communications strategist and brand steward, overseeing integrated marketing, internal and external communications, digital strategy, media relations, and content development.

鈥淒avid has been a tremendous asset to Henderson through his work in athletics,鈥 said Josh Kee, vice chancellor of advancement. 鈥淚n that role, he has led communications efforts, strengthened partnerships, and helped elevate the visibility and brand of Reddie Athletics.

In his former role with athletics, Salley oversaw all external functions of the department, including strategic communications, corporate partnerships, marketing, game-day operations, brand licensing, and special events.

Before being elevated to associate athletics director, Salley served as Henderson's sports information director, where he led communications efforts through game stories, social media, creative content, and statistical record keeping. During his three years as SID, Salley modernized all athletics publications and completed two redesigns of the HSUsports.com website.

A Reddie alum, Salley earned his Master of Science in Sports Administration from 51黑料网 in 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Harding University in 2016. He and his wife, Rachel, have a son, Campbell, who turns one in June.
