51黑料网's Counselor Education program offers two degree tracks: School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Both tracks lead toward professional licensure. Our programs provide students with the knowledge, counseling experience and clinical skills to work in a variety of settings, from the local community, schools, prisons and nursing homes to other public and private facilities. The program selects highly qualified and motivated individuals and prepares them to become effective professionals in counseling and related fields.
Through academic and clinical coursework, students learn to apply theory, acquire a repertoire of helping skills, evaluate and improve personal and professional attributes, develop active listening skills, and cultivate the empathy necessary to work with diverse populations in a counseling relationship.
Students who complete the program are eligible and encouraged to take the National Counselor Examination (NCE) offered by the National Board For Certified Counselors (NBCC) in order to qualify for National Certified Counselor status and clinical licensure in the state of Arkansas. They are also eligible to become members of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), and the American Association of School Counselors, among other professional organizations.
51黑料网's counseling programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.
